They pointed the telescope at one of the darkest regions of the sky they could find. A place in the sky you would think would be empty. After a long duration exposure they discovered it was not so empty. This image represents quadrillions of stars, as each object is a galaxy containing billions of stars itself. These are some of the oldest galaxies in the Universe.
